6th Annual Lincoln Zombie Walk - 2012
How to Participate

We may be Undead, but we are still bound by the laws of the city. Please keep in mind that any stupid hijinks you pull (like breaking things or attacking people who don't want to be involved) could put the kibosh on this or any future event. You will be responsible for any damage or problems you cause and we don't want anybody doing anything that would get them in trouble!

The Rules

  • No alcohol or drugs while marching (drinking afterwards at the ZombieFest street dance is encouraged for those over 21, however).
  • No touching or harassing bystanders.
  • No blocking of traffic. We must stay on the sidewalks, use cross walks and obey all traffic signals. The city says so!
  • No destruction of property. This includes bloody hand prints! We won't do this again if we have problems with this!
  • No scaring children.
  • No entering any galleries or shops.
  • No lawbreaking of any sort. You will be liable for your actions.

If you have any questions about what is or is not appropriate on the walk, please message us!

Four Ways to Join the Walk

We will be dressing like zombies and walking through several areas of downtown Lincoln, just to have some fun. It is guaranteed to be one of the most fun nights you have this year. There are four ways to be involved. Pricing and other particulars will be posted as soon as we have the info available!

DIY zombie
Join us at Pershing Center (226 Centenial Mall S, Lincoln, NE) any time between 11:00am and 6:00pm in your own zombie outfit and makeup. Be creative! There will be a costume contest with prizes awarded in several categories! You must be at Pershing Center for our pre-walk talk.

Let us zombify you
Join us at Pershing Center (226 Centenial Mall S, Lincoln, NE) at 12:00pm and let us zombify you! Wear clothes you don't mind getting destroyed, because what you wear to the event will be your costume! The charge for makeup is $5 for either face or body makeup, $10 for both. If you'd like latex (for that cool ripped-off-skin look) add $2 to that price for 2 small or one large wound. Our services are necessarily first come, first served, so we recommend arriving early for the best results! As it gets later and more zombies arrive, our talents are spread thin, but we'll zombify you as best we can. At a specific time (between 4:00p-4:30p) we will stop taking names and if you haven't gotten on the list, you will be a victim on the route. There will be plenty to do all day Saturday before the walk, including vendor booths offering final touches to your costume! And remember, all participants must be present for our pre-walk talk!

Be a victim:
Join us at Pershing Center (226 Centenial Mall S, Lincoln, NE) for our pre-walk talk. Wear clothes that can be destroyed! They may get torn, and they will get bloodied. Place a large duct-tape X on you chest and position yourself along the walking route (preferably near unsuspecting witnesses!) to be an attack victim. If there is any doubt about who wants to be devoured, we will not devour them, so you must mark yourself with an X if you intend to be a victim! When you rise from the swarm of zombies you can join the walk.

Resistance Force
This is an organized military response to the zombie horde! You will be dressed in military-style clothing and will be staged throughout the walk in an attempt to contain the horde. The walk ends with a standoff during which you'll be turned into zombie (what did you expect, the zombies always win). Sign up to be part of the resistance force at our Get Involved page or contact Chris Deaton at the Resistance Force facebook page.
